BaristaCats Café is a cat café experience that gives you the opportunity to interact with our colourful clowder of rescue resident and foster cats. There is an entry fee to spend time with the cats and just like any other café we serve barista-made coffee and have a small selection of afternoon tea style snacks which you can enjoy during your visit. We also sell a range of cat-themed merchandise should you wish to get a take home memento of your time with us.
If you're short on time, you're welcome to grab a takeaway coffee and enjoy a quick cat fix while you wait for your order to be prepared. Additionally we also run a monthly cat yoga class and movie night as well as kitten parties twice a year.
All bookings and purchases made with us goes towards the care of the cats in our care and the continual running of their forever home.
All guests must be at least 10 years old to enter the premises. We do enforce this age restriction strictly as it is part of our SPCA approved welfare plan put in place to ensure the happiness and welfare of our cats many of which are older and with special needs.
When booking online you will be requested to confirm that everyone attending is at least 10 years old and we will do an age check at the door as well. If we doubt the age of the child(ren), we will request proof of age and if none can be provided we reserve the right to deny entry. We do not take turning away guests lightly but our cats' wellbeing does come first.
Please also note that guests aged 10-14 years old must be accompanied by a paying supervising adult.
To book or not to book?
As we do have a limit to how many people we can have in the space at any given time, we highly recommend booking online to secure your spot. The only way to book is via this website - we do not take reservations by phone, email or Facebook. All bookings are non-refundable and must be paid for in advance. Change in day or time of the booking may be granted at management's discretion but only if we are given at least 48 hours' notice.
We do accept walk-in bookings on the day, subject to availability. On arrival in our waiting area you will see a session time board and the number of spaces we have available. Please note that the entry fee at the door is $2 more than if you booked online.
All of our cats are rescue cats and we have a particular focus on older cats and ones with special needs. Currently we have 13 residents cats who live at the café permanently, 3 fosters cats who are up for adoption and 1 special visitor kitty.
Every cat on site has been selected due to their temperament and personality. As a general rule of thumb the cats tend to be more active first thing in the morning (particularly on Tuesday morning after we've been closed a day) and less so in the afternoon. Having said that, they are independent animals so we can never full predict their behaviour.
